Day in The Life of a UGA YFAB Member:
When I am not in a YFAB meeting or event, my day is still structured around growth, discipline, and service in different areas of my life. As a student leader, I balance academics, extracurricular involvement, and personal development in a way that keeps me consistently engaged and learning.
Most of my time outside of class is spent studying. As a Biological Science major on the pre-med track, I dedicate time to reviewing lecture material, practicing concepts, and preparing for exams in challenging courses like chemistry and biology. Staying consistent with studying helps me avoid falling behind and allows me to build a strong foundation for my future career in medicine.
In addition to academics, I also spend time at the gym, especially playing basketball. This is not only a way for me to stay active, but also a mental reset. It helps me manage stress, stay focused, and maintain balance in a busy schedule.
I am also involved in BMLS, where I continue to build my leadership and professional skills through workshops, collaboration, and exposure to medical and scientific environments. This experience strengthens my interest in healthcare and helps me connect what I learn in the classroom to real-world applications.
Another major part of my time is dedicated to DAZE, where I serve as a community service co-captain. In this role, I help organize service initiatives, support team members, and contribute to planning events that create a sense of belonging for prospective students. It has strengthened my leadership skills by teaching me how to coordinate with others, take initiative, and make sure events run smoothly while still being impactful.
Overall, even when I am not actively participating in YFAB, my daily life is still centered around leadership, service, and personal growth. Whether I am studying, staying active, or leading in other organizations, each part of my day contributes to my long-term goals and my commitment to making a positive impact in my community.
