YFAB FY24-25 Highlights

  • During the 2024-2025 fiscal year, YFAB members participated in a total of 39 training and meeting hours and 104 hours of volunteering, which includes feedback on 15 campaigns, staffing five health fairs and attending three events.  

  • 55 people applied for the 2025-2026 cohort, and 30 members were inducted on August 13.

  • The YFAB participated in the following in-person events:

    • Georgia Teen Institute Leadership Summit

    • Substance Use Prevention Day at the Capitol

    • Suicide Prevention Day at the Capitol

    • Georgia Teen Institute 

    • YFAB members also worked a total of 42 health fair hours

  • Training and Workshops offered this year:

    • Youth Mental Health First Aid

    • Working Genius - working styles workshop

    • Mentoring training

    • Healthy relationships workshops

    • Cultural competency 

    • Interview etiquette  

    • The Strategic Prevention Framework 

    • Substance use trends 

    • Public speaking and facilitation 

  • This year, the YFAB provided input and feedback for the following campaigns:

    • Raksha, Inc.’s Opioid Comic strip PSA and booklet

    • DBHDD’s Red Ribbon Week Campaign

    • State Opioid Response Plan strategies, Sources of Strength focus group materials
